Over the last 25 years the Gallery of Thomas von Salis and Laszlo von Vertes has become one of the leading galleries in the field of 20th century art, providing a remarkable range as well as the highest quality. The spectrum spans from Impressionism, German and French Expressionism, École de Paris, Classical Modern to Contemporary and since 2006 also includes prints of modern masters, such as Braque, Miró, Picasso, Rauschenberg and Warhol.
Since they joint their activities in 1994, Thomas von Salis and Laszlo von Vertes have staged exemplary exhibitions on international fairs as well as during the Easter and Summer Festivals in Salzburg, most notably on Max Ernst, Serge Poliakoff, Jean Dubuffet, Fernand Léger and recently Marc Chagall.
In Winter 2005 they opened a gallery in the spectacular Norman Foster Building on Via Serlas in the centre of St. Moritz. The gallery in Salzburg moved into the historical Palais Rehlingen on Mozartplatz. And as of November 2008 a “flagship gallery” will open on the prestigious Bahnhofstrasse in Zurich.
The Gallery has been invited to participate on international fairs such as TEFAF Maastricht or ART Cologne for over 20 years. It has consolidated its position as a leading institution dealing with European art of the 19th and 20th centuries. Museums and private collectors in Europe and overseas have sought their advice and made important purchases through them, notably the Würth Collection in Germany, the Collection Corboud in Switzerland, the National Gallery in Washington and the Minneapolis Museum of Fine Art.
