Founded in 1993, Goedhuis Contemporary is dedicated to exhibiting and publishing works by China’s premier contemporary artists. Placing equal emphasis on the emerging generation as well as the iconic established artists, Goedhuis Contemporary has kept pace with a market that is constantly evolving. The policy of Goedhuis Contemporary since its foundation has been to give intense exposure to its artists through solo exhibitions launched in both its New York and London spaces and through its network of art fairs in America, Europe, and Asia. All of Goedhuis Contemporary’s artists share a tireless commitment to artistic innovation and social engagement, expressing themselves through a variety of media which present a nuanced perspective on the most important art movement of the last fifty years.
Goedhuis Contemporary is currently committed to exhibiting the work of the foremost Chinese Modernist Ink Painters working in China, as well as in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Paris, London and New York.
Michael Goedhuis established Goedhuis Contemporary as a pioneer in modern and contemporary Chinese art, a project which has been accomplished by his belief in the cultural vitality of contemporary Asia and the determination to exploit its full cultural and market potential.
